India is set to strengthen its presence in the global wellness movement as the 10th edition of World Wellness Weekend takes place across 190 countries from September 18–20, 2026. India has confirmed participation from more than 525 properties across the country.
525+ Properties Across India
The participating properties span luxury hotel groups, boutique wellness retreats, Ayurveda institutions and institutional networks.
The confirmed participation includes 19 resorts and retreats, 126 hotel-group properties and more than 380 properties across institutional and Ayurveda networks, taking India’s total to 525+.
India Targets the Top Global Ranking
India ranked fifth globally in the 2025 edition of World Wellness Weekend. With the expanded participation this year, the country is aiming to move towards the #1 global ranking for the 10th anniversary edition.
Reena Sheth, World Wellness Weekend Ambassador for India & Asia Pacific and Founder & Chief Wellness Strategist at Gaiia, said the growing participation reflects India’s connection with wellness across hospitality and Ayurveda.
Hotels and Wellness Retreats Join
The participating hospitality names include Shangri-La Bengaluru, Shangri-La New Delhi, Fairmont Mumbai, Fairmont Jaipur, Fairmont Udaipur, Vana – Six Senses, Atmantan, Dharana at Shillim, SwaSwara – CGH Earth and Della Resort, among others.
Hotel groups participating in the initiative include Taj Hotels/IHCL with 90 properties, The Leela with 14 properties, Hyatt Hotels, Oberoi, St. Regis, The Lodhi, ITC Hotels, Tree of Life Resorts, Meghavi Wellness and Sofitel Mumbai BKC.
Institutional Participation Expands
Madhavbaug, with 350 properties, and the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC), with more than 30 centres, have joined World Wellness Weekend 2026 as institutional partners.
The initiative is also in active outreach with the Ministry of AYUSH and the D Y Patil Group. The release states that support has been confirmed informally, with formal letters of endorsement in process.
Five Pillars of Wellness
World Wellness Weekend is a non-profit global wellness activation built around five pillars: Sleep & Creativity, Nutrition & Immunity, Movement & Vitality, Mindfulness & Serenity, and Purpose & Solidarity.
The initiative offers free wellness activities across participating locations. Its most recent edition recorded more than 20 million media views and 11,000 participating venues globally.
A Growing Wellness Network
The 2026 edition brings together India’s hospitality, Ayurveda and institutional wellness networks, giving the country a larger platform within the global World Wellness Weekend movement.
The participation also reflects growing institutional engagement with wellness initiatives and India’s traditional and holistic wellness ecosystem.
