Arvind Valand is a name synonymous with passion and sheer perseverance. At the Eurasia ABMU Golden Cup 2025 held in Yerevan, Armenia, Arvind distinguished himself by winning 3rd place in the Salon Look Man category and 5th place in the Salon Look Woman category, showcasing his impeccable skill in hair styling and color correction.
His journey from humble beginnings in Gujarat to international acclaim is truly inspiring. With just Rs. 500 and a loan from his grandmother, Arvind began his salon career with minimal resources. Despite hardships, including traveling barefoot and working 14-15 hours, he built a flourishing salon business and became known for his dedication to cleanliness, client service, and continuous education.
Arvind’s success on the world stage is grounded in his philosophy of constantly learning and pushing creativity. He credits much of his growth to international exposure, especially his experiences in Kazakhstan through CMC CAT training. “Before Kazakhstan, our skills were what you’d typically find in local salons. That experience opened my eyes to extraordinary work, speed, and creativity,” he shares.
Artistic Vision and Color Creativity
For the women’s salon look, Arvind drew inspiration from his mentors, Vikram J Pania and Uttam Parekh, combining that guidance with his own creative instincts. He chose a captivating color—a blend of blue and lavender that created a sophisticated ash-silver finish. This palette was perfectly matched with his model’s attire, designed 15 days prior to the show.

For the men’s haircut, Arvind executed a 180-degree makeover on a live model. The model initially preferred minimal change but was soon convinced to embrace a new style. The transformation was so striking that the model happily committed to maintaining the look, posting many mirror selfies and expressing delight with the result. For Arvind, winning is secondary and learning something new is primary.
