On September 17, 2025, Mumbai witnessed a history being created–L’Oréal Professionnel India brought together 422 hairstylists and 422 models under one roof to set a Guinness World Record for the most people coloring hair simultaneously. The event was hosted at NESCO Goregaon.
Titled “India’s Biggest Hair Moment,” the record-setting occasion was centered around the year’s hottest hair trend—Iconic Browns. Over 5,000 tubes of premium L’Oréal colors, including iNOA (no ammonia), Majirel (pro favorite), and Dia Color (demi-permanent gloss), were used to create flawless transformations.

Behind the scenes, hairstylists underwent months of technical and digital upskilling to prepare for the event, with only the most skilled selected to participate. The day included a mega masterclass by Min Kim, L’Oréal’s Global Color Ambassador, who also transformed actress Kritika Kamra with a stunning Iconic Brown look.A total of 60 wash stations ensured smooth logistics, allowing for rapid yet precise color applications.
This Guinness World Record stands as a milestone, spotlighting the rise of India’s hairdresser community and the trending shift towards premium salon services driving the beauty industry forward. It also reflects L’Oréal Professionnel’s commitment to elevating hairstylists as influential voices in the global hair landscape.
